Epiroc unlocks economic and environmental sustainability through circular solutions
2025年06月11日
Epiroc consolidates decades of expertise working with maintenance, service, and repair to increase the efficiency and lifetime of mining and construction equipment. With an increased interest from customers in component repair and remanufacturing, exchange offerings, and machine midlife rebuilds, a new Circular solutions web page has been launched, making it easier for Epiroc customers and partners to get an overview and choose from the multiple sustainable alternatives and circular offerings within the Epiroc portfolio.
Built on the principles of the circular economy, Epiroc Circular solutions aim to help customers maximize the value of equipment while reducing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). By choosing circular options, customers can reduce environmental impact, extend product life, and enhance operational efficiency.
Epiroc Circular solutions allow customers to rebuild machines with the latest technology updates, without decommissioning major components or purchasing new equipment. This approach saves money and benefits the environment, as remanufactured components can be up to 70% less costly than new ones, with a reuse of steel of up to 90%.
Additionally, Epiroc partners with customers to forecast maintenance needs and plan proactive service schedules that optimize equipment uptime and efficiency. Circular machine offerings include Midlife services, battery conversions for underground loaders, and equipment CARE agreements.
"“Circular solutions are a win-win for both our customers and the environment,” says Bodil Wiklund, Global Product Line Manager Service Solutions at Epiroc. “By prolonging the life of machines and components, we help customers reduce waste, lower CO2 emissions, and achieve significant savings.”"
“Circular solutions are a win-win for both our customers and the environment,” says Bodil Wiklund, Global Product Line Manager Service Solutions at Epiroc. “By prolonging the life of machines and components, we help customers reduce waste, lower CO2 emissions, and achieve significant savings.”
The demand for circular solutions has increased significantly as Epiroc’s customers prioritize sustainability in their procurement strategies. Circular practices are now part of the buying process rather than an afterthought, as mining and construction businesses increasingly seek options to prolong machine lifecycles.
Beginning with product design, Epiroc ensures that machines are designed for durability and serviceability. This approach makes machines easier to maintain, upgrade, disassemble, and remanufacture, aligning with circular economy principles.
“Circularity is not just about aftermarket services. It is embedded in every step of the Epiroc process, from design to sourcing to maintenance,” adds Bodil Wiklund. “This approach allows us to work closely with customers to deliver solutions that are efficient, sustainable, and tailored to their needs.”
Epiroc emphasizes collaboration as a cornerstone of its circular approach. By working closely with customers and suppliers, Epiroc ensures seamless integration of circular practices.
