LinkOA delivers at scale - 300 million tonnes moved autonomously

January 19, 2026

Epiroc has reached a significant milestone in its autonomous haulage program: more than 300 million tonnes of material have now been moved autonomously at the Roy Hill mine, operated by Hancock Iron Ore, using LinkOA.
Epiroc - LinkOA AHS Australia
To date, Epiroc and Hancock Iron Ore have completed the conversion of 78 haul trucks from manual to autonomous operation. The fleet has now completed over 1.2 million autonomous haul cycles and traveled autonomously more than 7 million kilometers safely.

"Autonomous haulage systems are essential for both production and safety. Reaching 300 million tonnes is a clear indicator of LinkOA’s reliability and performance in real-world conditions."

This latest milestone is a clear demonstration of what LinkOA and Open Autonomy can deliver: safe, efficient, and proven autonomous solutions that give mines the freedom to automate on their terms — regardless of fleet size or equipment brand.

"We are seeing the results of years of investment by Epiroc and strong collaboration with Hancock Iron Ore, proving what’s possible when trust, technology, and long-term partnership align."
