COP M-series

Welcome to Epiroc's all new M-series of DTH hammers. Our 6", 7" and 8" hammers are designed and built to perfection. They are faster, lighter, more service friendly and longer lasting than ever before. Our new hammers come with a wealth of new design features. These translate into great benefits for you. You need to look no further for increased drilling performance and return on investment.

Down-the-hole applications – just about anywhere

Blasthole drilling

Production drilling of blastholes in quarries and mines.

There are four main types of blastholes:

Production holes
Pre-split holes
Buffer holes
Production holes underground

Well drilling

There are two main purposes for well drilling:

Waterwells
Geothermal wells

The required depth and size of the wells varies geographically due to pump standards and geology.

Deep hole drilling

Oil & Gas drilling is done to great depth. Normally 1000m or deeper.
The well design determines what tools can be used.
The wells are cased so casing systems are required.
The wells are telescoped so a number of hammer and bit sizes are used.

Construction

There are a number of sub applications within construction which are:

Piling & micropiling
Foundation drilling
Enviromental survey holes
Blast holes

Exploration

Exploration drilling is a deep hole application where the purpose is to collect the cuttings for analyses.
Exploration drilling is in most cases done in remote areas far from normal infrastructure.
Greenfield – focuses on finding minerals in previously unexplored areas.
Brownfield - done within the mining properties or close proximity.

In-pit grade control

In-pit grade control is done within mines to control the grade of ore that is mined so it can be mixed optimally to the refining plant.
In-pit grade control is done so the mine more exactly can plan production and increase productivity.

Down-the-hole hammers – when proven technology is required

Our hammers are purpose-matched for all rock types and applications. Choosing the right hammer is largely determined by hole size and type of rock formation. Ideally, the size of the hammer should match the required hole dimension as closely as possible, leaving just enough space for cuttings to evacuate the hole.

We offer a comprehensive range of DTH drill bits to match all conceivable applications. Each bit is made from quality alloy steel, and has been precision machined to produce a perfect body, heat treated to the required hardness, given surface compression for fatigue resistance, and fitted with precision buttons manufactured in-house.

Down-the-hole pipes and adapters – High quality for high performance

Key features of a high quality DTH pipe are durability, accuracy and manageability. Our pipes are made from cold drawn piping, providing a superior surface finish and tolerance compared to conventional pipes made from hot rolled piping.

Breakout bench – Handy but powerful

The threaded connections of the driver chuck and the top sub may become very tightly tensioned during drilling. It is convenient to break the hammer threads on the rig, but if the threads cannot be loosened or tend to get stuck, a breakout bench is the solution. This handy but powerful breakout bench can easily be placed in a workshop or container and it breaks DTH hammers between 3 – 8" in the standard version or 5 – 12" in the heavy duty version.
